Hey, you recommended me the Nothing Ear (2) and I loved them, apart from the noise cancelling being a tad weaker than wanted. They recently broke and I got $100 from the warranty. What earbuds would you recommend for $100-150? I have an iPhone and prioritize sound quality and ANC, I don't care about workout earbuds or sleep earbuds. I was thinking about the Ear (a) or the Ear 2024, but I'm unsure. Thanks!

Very spot on for the review! the XM4 sounds dark and distant, i can't get more of the mid range vocals so Xm5 is definitely the clear winner

If they don’t have ear hooks/wings/fins I won’t even consider them as "active" earbuds

El Jefe. Thank you for your ever-precise reviews! Honestly. Could you please help me make a choice here? Assuming the Skullcandy Crusher ANC2's bass was a 100/100 rating, what would you rate the bass off the Sony Ult Wear? I'm asking because the Ults are going for £149 which is the same as what the Skullcandy Crusher ANC2s are going for now. I'm a bass lover but I'm torn between both headphones even though I know the Skullcandy has more bass. I think the Sony has more 'other stuff' that makes it a more complete purchase. So I'm confused and feel your rating would help me choose.

I bought these when they came out in June 2022 and after about 18 months I started having the "battery drainage issue" that has been reported by several owners. Look up videos on UA-cam that talk about this problem. What happened was that at some point Sony released an app update that affects the voltage while changing the buds. The higher voltage damaged the battery. Now after a full charge, my right bud gets down to 0% after only about 25 minutes of playing while the left bud is at around 60-70%. Sony won't take responsibility for their mistake and it's not worth getting repaired because it's either too expensive and/or too complicated to do myself. This will be the last Sony product I will have bought. I now own a pair of Soundcore Space A40.

Just replaced my XM5s with the Sennys. I'm sorry Sony but as long as you insist on using those garbage foam tips that deteriorate after 2 months of use and have no replacements available i can't recommend anyone buy the XM5s.

I saw this in the mall and the price was just right for me. The specs are all good has ANC, pass trough, IPX5, multiple connection, big 11mm drivers, 6 mics, 12 hours playing time and another 60 hours with case, has wireless charging and is from a reputable brand. When I first saw it I was surprised it priced the same with the Soundcore Space A40 which I was really the one I intend to buy or order but they don't have any in stock. I browsed the internet for specs and then had to have an opinion from a reviewer and first on youtube result that was reputable reviewer was you so i watched it while I was in the store I saw that you where happy and specs are are true like what the soundcore website so I bought immediately. The P40is almost the same with the A40 but the playtime is way longer plus the case also provides many more recharge , the IPX rating one higher, has wireless charging and has bigger drivers. I'm at home now playing with it right now while watching your vid for the second time. The P40i is even way better than Galaxy Buds FE I got for free with my Galaxy A55. The P40i is cheaper and offers more almost the level of the Buds 2 Pro, I hope this P40i is of good quality.

The battery life is not great and that definitely affects the NC so far I've been able to get about 6h out of them before needing to change and at around hour 5 the NC pretty much shuts off!?

Is it possible to change the ear cushions on these?

Hola El Jefe. Quiero unos Earbuds Soundcore. Mi Enfoque es una excelente calidad de Llamada (micrófono), Cancelacion de Ruido y Viento y sobre todo:que me queden bien en el oido. Tengo un oido pequeño y la mayoria de los Earbuds de Patita (me lastiman). Obviamente se que para eso existen los Eartips (y siempre uso los pequeños). Los Earbuds tienen básicamente 3 partes: los Eartips, el cuerpo o cabeza (que es precisamente el que me lastima cuando es muy grande o grueso) y la Patita. Quiero un Earbud de Patita (ya que el micrófono funciona mejor que los que no son asi). Considerando todo lo anterior, ¿Me recomiendas estos P40i u otro modelo de Soundcore?

Just picked these up on sale. I should've bought these two years ago. Ive had the Live Pro 2 since 2022 and they've only gotten better and better with each software update. The Live Free 2 have a little more bass then they Pro 2. Features wise I feel like they're both basically the same. The ambient and noise reduction modes are great in both. Comfort wise they're both great but the Free 2 have a more secure fit while the Pro 2 have a more relaxed fit but they still wont come out easy.

Xm4 is a king of sound, however, it feels unconfortable after 30 minutos. It weights 254 gr. Could the clamping force be adjusted using books overnight? Its headband is plastic or metal?

Simple hack, use two apps. Sony app EQ: All sliders to 3 (Clear bass 2, ULT1) Wavelet AutoEQ: Marshall Major 2 Wavelet GraphicEQ: All maxed out. Enjoy the 1000$ sound experience.

I really hope they make an ult tws model. I used to use the Sony xb55ap way back in the day and they were some of my favorite anything audio I had ever tried
